SECTORS AND WORK FIELDS
D.C.O
OBJECTIVE
The Role of Culture in Building Peace and Strengthening Social Cohesion OBJECTIVES
Culture in Sudan is not just about traditions and customs but a vital tool for
building peace and fostering understanding between different
communities. Culture can serve as a bridge that narrows distances and
promotes tolerance, especially in a country grappling with conflicts and
divisions. At ‘One Community for Peace and Development’
, we believe that
channeling culture correctly contributes to conflict resolution and supports
our goals of spreading peace and sustainable development. In the current
context of war, cultural programs become even more crucial in mending
divisions and rebuilding trust between conflicting communities. The role of
arts in addressing the psychological impact of conflict cannot be
overlooked. We are actively organizing theatrical performances and
awareness campaigns in displaced persons’ camps to ease tensions and
spread messages of hope and tolerance. Additionally, we focus on
organizing educational activities for children, by providing health systems
and nutrition are among the primary victims of the conflict, providing them
with an outlet to express themselves through art and drawing to help them
process the trauma of war.
